Massage and Spa Bodywork Techniques

This 57-minute video demonstrates an Esalen style massage with Ashiatsu and Table Thai techniques I gave in July 2020. This was my housemate at the time, so we didn’t wear masks.

The session opens with a 10 minute guided meditation by Liquid Bloom. Music is a strong influence in my massages. As a fusion and micro-blues dancer, I love letting music guide movement.

38-second video time-lapse demonstrating a 75 minute full-body massage I gave in July 2019. I no longer operate in this studio space. The odd sculpture in the center of the frame is a silkworm tip jar I was constructing for my band. The model is my friend and welcomed the company of my dog, Bebop, who you see sleeping on the floor.

Evolving

There is so much more to massage therapy and spa treatments than you could ever know. It’s a holistic endeavor that covers mind and body…that’s pretty much everything about you, isn’t it?

Anxiety and depression together with Tennis Elbow and rotator cuff surgery. Children, adults, and the elderly all have different requirements. Dogs, cats, horses,(and monkeys!) benefit from massage, as well.

And with more research being done on therapeutic touch, there is no shortage of learning to be done. Here are some videos from 2019, after I took a Pediatric Massage workshop and wanted to tell everyone about it.

I am constantly trying new things, but I rarely get the camera out beforehand. Enjoy!

Testimonials

Some clients are more outgoing than others. I really appreciate that this client, an actor, offered to go on video to give me a testimonial. I haven’t asked other clients to go on video just yet.

He, like most of my clients, played a pivotal role in the development of my practice. He first came to me in the summer of 2018, when I was working at a yoga studio. He was my first client to come to my home studio on Halloween of 2018, when I was inspired by the holiday and the shows Vikings and Britannia. I tried to decorate the studio to have an ancient viking/druid feel, and played a lot of Wardruna music.

Events, Volunteering

I love being put to use at events – it’s a great ice breaker for meeting participants. Volunteering chair massages has provided some great opportunities for me, and it turns out dancers are great tippers 🙂

Stay tuned for my next volunteer endeavor – a chimp rescue in North Georgia needs photographers. I applied in January 2021 and await to hear back.
